I was having a somewhat unremarkable day, and then the VP announced testing in nursing homes and the Rachel Maddow Show called and my day changed.

"The best daughters in the world!"
My father has been keeping a journal for years and encouraged me to do the same. This is my limited attempt to share the thoughts going on in my head on a somewhat regular basis. I am a husband, a father of two great women, father-in-law to an incredible man, grandfather to an amazing boy and adorable little girl, a Geriatrician, an age group triathlete and 16-time Ironman. I endeavor to give life everything I have and not to ever look back!

- I'm a reformed couch potato, who had never run a mile prior to turning 32. I then proceeded to do 9 marathons in the next seven years, started doing some triathlons and got a herniated disc. I was never very fast, but got a coach in 2005 and haven't looked back. Triathlon is a lifestyle to me, and allows me to show others that one can get stronger, fitter and faster even as they get older!
